Do you remember the good old days
Before the ghost town?
We danced and sang,
And the music played inna de boomtown
Okay, I’ve been slacking. You caught me. This blog has seen less action in the last few months than my ironing board has since my first day at University in 2001.
I’ve loads of great music to share, but I need an external soundcard to get the podcasting going again and to up the sound quality and deliver a better production as I feel it wasn’t really anywhere near my best. If anyone has one kicking about with a volume control, or you can recommend one, gimmie a Gmail.
Anyway, in the meantime, other people are doing the hard work for me while I just recommend tunes to play: Stuart Millar at BBC Radio 1 NI was filling in for Rory O’Connell this week and played one of my suggestions, RL/VL – Mandril Waiting. Nice to get a mention.
What’s your own recommendations this month?
Other stuff I’m digging this month: Amuze.me talking about High Fidelity and mixtapes and a phenomenal short animation Edgar by Aviad Goldgevicht that’s been recut into a music video for a Newry band, Blackball Fighter, but the recut one is not released yet. Thankfully the original piece is stunning so check that out.
