Dear Reader,
It’s with great sadness that your Editor has to break the news that one of our own kind as gone over to the other side. Yes, I’m sure you’ll not hesitate to join me in mourning the loss of another unreached potential to that place Irish musicians fear to tread… Success.
In Case Of Fire have been announced as MTV’s #1 Spanking New For 2008. Groupies, money, fun, making a living from playing music…these are all terrible things for those of us that love the old argument “they should have made it”. If this does not make you hurl with disgust my friend then I don’t know what will.
Oh wait, I do…they’re supporting Queens Of The Stone Age on their tour in early February around Ireland and the UK.
Tip of the hat to Joe Dougan for bringing this outrageously good news to our attention.

No doubt this is fantastic news but I don’t think I’m not going to organise my In Case of Fire street party just yet. There have been quite a few bands from here that have been hotly tipped for success by the press, some have even followed through with a belter of a single, remember Joyrider? (didn’t think so). Artistically speaking though, if anyone deserves the Big Break it’s ICOF, their work is pretty unique.

but a ICOF street party sounds awesome. Nearly as good as an illegal forest rave
